Define love

What does it mean to love,
to truly love someone
the way that God defines it,
not the world?

We read that God is love,
His being's love itself.
Christ showed us an example
on this Earth.

Christ made it known to us --
a real life in flesh.
He showed us God incarnate --
real love.

What was it that He showed?
Seeking true good of men
Through selfless sacrificing
of Himself.


We are to do the same --
to imitate Christ's love,
and follow in His footsteps
selflessly.

Love is a sacrifice --
a joyful giving up
of our selfish comfort
for someone.

To seek true good for men,
not what they think they need
but that what edifies them,
their soul.

A caring attitude,
commitment to build up,
a heart willing to listen,
and to help.

We have so much to learn
from Christ -- the God in flesh.
He set the world in motion,
Perfect One.

We choose to live like He
has shown us on this Earth.
He brought a piece of Heaven
close to us.

Our only hero -- Christ,
the way of knowing God.
He is the true reflection
of true love.
